Elemental Shadows : What now? and Post Game Jam update


UPDATE DESCRIPTION

The game was originally made in a 72h Game Jam and anyone that have participated or followed someone in a game jam can attest that usually the design and code base of these games tend to be left pretty much incomplete and chaotic.

So, I had a lot of work fixing bugs and re-structuring the code, to be able to scale it more easily and I can say I'm happy with the current state of the code.

I also did several QoL (Quality of Life) changes and added some new features, the big ones being Parcial Controller Support, Local Score System for the Dungeon, Local Save System and Trophies (Achievements).

WHAT NOW?

I've Decided to Extend this Project in order to Test some Game Design ideas and if the project grows well, it may lead to a full Commercial Release, but right now, I am yet not seeing all the pieces coming together and can not be sure about the outcome of these tests.

It would be great to have some constant feedback and I probably will open a discord channel if the project is growing well, but for now if you would like to be included as a Closed Beta Tester, please send me an e-mail saying so.

The Design of this Game was left pretty open on it's conception...

Since it was only envisioned as a mini-game, I haven't really committed with any type of progression system, and although the gameplay is obviously of a shooter I've been recently focusing my studies in adventures and world building, which may lead the game to some interesting avenues.

I've been also looking at RPG as a Progression System lately, but currently I'm not feeling the game going too much in this direction... Maybe this will change in the future, but for now I am feeling more like pursuing a mix of skill based (Shooter) and exploration (Puzzle/Adventure).

The game has also made me think about Rogue Likes/Lites, since the game already has some "Procedural Gameplay" because the dungeon rooms are randomized, it may also have something interesting to explore in those avenues.
